Quality Assurance Manager

Introduction

Our client, a fast-growing software company with offices in the USA, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and South Africa, is a leading provider of software solutions for Governance, Risk and Compliance management and reporting. The individual will utilize their SQL and TSQL experience to deliver bespoke and standard items for our configurable software platform. The Technical Solutions Expert will work in our Professional Services department in an agile project stream and be able to serve as an expert in technical delivery and bespoke development.

Main purpose of job:

  • Leads, develops and is accountable for an organizational approach and commitment to Quality Assurance and Testing.
  • Plans and resources the organizational QA activities based on a shared services model and TaaS (Testing as a service) of pooled resources.
  • Considers the implications of emerging technologies, trends, regulations and legislation.
  • Reviews and analyses result from audit activities and identifies improvement opportunities for the organization.
  • Ensures that the organizational QA/Test processes and activities are robust and based on industry best practice.
  • Monitors and reports on quality assurance activities, levels of compliance and both organizational and project risks.
  • The QA Manager will own the test quality and deliverables.
  • He or she will work closely withthe Senior Executive and manage the Test Centre of Excellence team to ensure that applications are tested with high level of quality and that meets standards.
  • The QA Manager will be the primary contact for all the testing activities.
  • Defines, Maintains and improves methodology.
  • Maintaining timelines. Automation Strategy.
  • Performance Testing Strategy
  • Maintains Overall system integrity through regression testing.
  • A big focus will be strategic thinking and implementing great ideas

Primary responsibilities:

  • Testing Methodology & Strategy:
  • Develop and implement a robust set of testing processes, procedures and policies across all projects/releases.
  • Produces the systems test Strategy, with input from all stakeholders.
  • Regulating and coordinating testing processes and standards across multiple and simultaneous projects and departments, for various browsers, and mobile devices.
  • Creating test strategies for assigned projects and Managing the test preparation phases for the production of test effort, resource calculation, test data, test cases, test
    execution plans, and defect report life cycle flows (it is essential to set up for each project as developers use different life cycles).
  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Ensures that the test environment is set up with the requisite hardware and software to enable testing to take place.
  • Responsible for evaluating and implementing the relevant testing tools to support the testing effort.
  • Synchronizing the testing and development environments to allow testing to be done correctly.
  • Monitoring test project plans across functions providing resource estimates and establishing tasks and schedules; prioritizing and delegating responsibilities to the team
  • Presenting test improvements and developments in daily progress meetings including planned vs. actual test case progress, blocked, as well as the status of defects and promotion of defects that require resolution, data provided by test team leads.
  • Resource Management.

Test Plan/Test Strategy:

  • Reviewing and approving test plans and strategy estimates developed by the test lead.
  • Planning the best coverage of testing over numerous browsers and various devices to avoid duplication and reduce costs whilst ensuring quality coverage and minimum risk.
  • Release Decision & Sign-Off:
  • Evaluate and approve the Test Results and make final release decision.
  • Perform a readiness assessment.
  • Providing written feedback and recommendations to all stakeholders on test issues.
  • Conducting or coordinating Training and Coaching activities with the resources in the testing team to ensure the appropriate skill levels and understanding of business context is in place

Reporting:

  • Defines measure and report on key testing metrics. Identify areas of improvement and associated improvement plans.
  • Assisting in the preparation of quality assessments, reports, and metrics as well as
    formulating go-no go statement based on reports and metrics, test progress and defect status

Required Qualification & Skills:

  • 15> Years Management Experience
  • 10 > Years Testing Experience
  • SDLC (strong functional knowledge of Systems Engineering)
  • Agile Framework
  • In-depth knowledge of software test life cycle

Minimum Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in tools such as Quality Centre ALM, Jira, Azure Devops, Spira Teams, Confluence, SharePoint
  • ISTQB Certified
  • Practical Software Testing
  • Usability Testing
  • Agile, V-Model and Waterfall methodologies
  • Sufficient experience with automation tools such as UFT, Selenium, Cucumber, IntelliJ, Appium,
  • Robot Framework, Katalon,
  • Sufficient experience with API Testing tools such as Soap UI, Postman, Swagger etc
  • Bachelors or master’s degrees in engineering or science related fields.
  • Areas of study may include Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Management Information
  • Systems, and Quality Assurance.
