Quality Manager


To ensure the effective running of the QA team throughout the site, by ensuring that he/she manages available resources to ensure that the business needs are met. He/she will co-ordinate activities of each area of the Department to ensure legality, safety and quality to meet the production and customer targets.


Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:

Ensuring the general implementation and understanding of the following:

  • Quality procedures and site quality manuals requirements
  • HACCP system procedures and checks are in place and up to-date
  • Food standards in respect of safety, legality and customer’s requirements are met
  • Health and safety required standards through the department are met in full.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Food safety, legality and quality,
  • Review and make recommendations for changes to the site quality procedures, HACCP, specifications through regular assessment to ensure they remain adequate and relevant,
  • Controlling quality, training, internal auditing, aiding investigations for customer complaints; and ensuring remedial action is promptly taken to ensure the issue does not occur again
  • Preparing and updating controlled documents were necessary
  • Co-ordination of the Technical Department/Team

Any other responsibilities not specifically mentioned above.
As part of the Management team, the Quality Manager contributes to the overall development and progress of the business.


  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience in a Food Technologist role
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) experience is essential
  • Methodical thinker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Computer literacy is essential (MS Excel and Word)
  • Previous experience in a food related environment is desirable

Formal Qualifications:

  • Food Technology Diploma through an accredited institution
  • B Degree in Food Technology is desirable
  • HACCP, TACCP and VACCP training essential
